The Mormons
Did you know that the reason President Nelson was against using the name "The Mormons" was because the Lord said in the Book of Mormon that there are two criteria a church has to meet to be his church. The criteria are:
1) The church must bear his name: Jesus Christ 2) It must be "built upon my gospel"
3 Nephi 27 8 And how be it my church save it be called in my name? For if a church be called in Moses’ name then it be Moses’ church; or if it be called in the name of a man then it be the church of a man; but if it be called in my name then it is my church, if it so be that they are built upon my gospel.
If it doesn't meet these two criteria, then he rejects it as his Church.
"The first name used to denote the church JS organized on 6 April 1830 was 'the Church of Christ.'"
